Powered by a slim, high-performance fuel-injected 1000cc V-twin engine it is ruggedly outfitted for long-distance journeys. Its broad, windbreaking fairing, progressive long-travel suspension and comprehensive accommodations for two ensure exceptional riding comfort. The 2005 XL1000V Varadero now comes with Anti Lock Braking System as standard in the UK. The responsive Dual Combined Brakes combine with the world\'s most advanced motorcycle Anti Lock Brake System for smooth and swift stopping control. This is a much-appreciated boost in confidence and safety that will often make a difference in a potential problem you face on the road.

Engine
The Varadero\'s big 998cm3 liquid-cooled 90° V-twin engine has made a name for itself powering Honda\'s impressive VTR1000F. This engine provides strong, smooth and reliable power that\'s in perfect harmony with a wide range of riding styles, from urban traffic dicing to race track scratching. Selected as the big, pulsating heart of the Varadero, this superb engine delivers a dynamic surge of acceleration to carry two and a full load of touring gear comfortably over mountains and across plains the length and breadth of the Continent. In 2003 the XL1000V was fitted with Honda\'s advanced PGM-FI programmed fuel injection system to reduce fuel consumption and emissions outputs.
Height-Adjustable Windscreen
The Varadero\'s broad windscreen offers two positions of adjustability via four screws and a full 50mm variance to provide optimum wind protection and a more comfortable ride to an even broader cross-section of riders\' sizes.
New ABS Option
The Varadero\'s advanced Dual Combined Brake System continues to provide an enhanced balance of front and rear braking control, specially tuned for the unique needs of this dual-purpose Adventure Sports tourer.
And, for 2004, the Varadero is now available with optional ABS to complement the Dual-CBS system for the most effective and safe braking control in all conditions.
